This Charter of Muslim Understanding was put forward by former Muslim scholar, Sam Solomon in 2006. If Muslim leaders in their adopted countries truly believe Islam is a religion of peace, they should have no difficulty in signing this charter. Sam Solomon, a former Islamic jurist, born and raised as a Muslim, had trained in Sharia law for 15 years before converting to Christianity.
